(Greenfield, MA) Twenty people spoke at the Greenfield City Council special meeting on Friday. 18 spoke in favor of the council going ahead with Mayor Roxanne Wedegartner’s request for an additional $6 million to fund the new Greenfield Fire Station. The plan includes building a temporary fire station on Hope Street, and then a permanent structure on Main Street on property that currently houses the Greenfield open air market. Greenfield is still in negotiations to purchase the property that would house the permanent fire station. The city council will vote on the additional funding at their meeting this Wednesday night.
