(Greenfield, MA) Two men, one from Greenfield and the other from New Jersey, were arrested on March 6th and charged with Trafficking in Cocaine and Possession with the Intent to Distribute Heroin and Fentanyl. This comes as a result of an investigation by the Greenfield Police Department, Northwestern District Anti-Crime Task Force, with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
These agencies worked for several months on an investigation that led to the execution of several search warrants granted by the Franklin Superior Court which were executed on December 5th, 2022 in Greenfield. During that search investigators found approximately 114 grams of suspected cocaine, approximately 650 bags of suspected heroin/fentanyl and approximately $113,000.
According to the Greenfield Police Department, the defendant was out on bail from the December case when he restarted his narcotics operation. This led to a subsequent investigation and further search warrants that were executed on Monday, March 6th.
The Montague Police Department, Hampshire/Franklin State Police Detective unit, Massachusetts State Police Commonwealth Interstate Narcotics Reduction Enforcement Team and the Narcotics Section, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration Springfield Office, Federal Bureau of Investigation Springfield Office, and the Western Massachusetts Gang Task Force all also participated in the executions of the search warrants Monday that located the two men along with approximately two kilos of suspected cocaine, approximately 520 bags of suspected heroin/fentanyl, and approximately $40,000.
