ORANGE, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Two individuals have been arrested after a shooting took place in Orange. Police Chief James Sullivan made a statement sharing details of the call that occurred on Sunday just before 5 p.m. at 50 East Main Street, leading to an investigation that concluded the shots were fired at a person, although no injuries were reported.

From the Orange Police Chief James Sullivan:

On Sunday March 23, 2025, at 4:56PM Shelburne Control received 911 call reporting shots fired at 50 East Main Street in Orange. The callers reported multiple shots being fired and a window is blown out on the second floor.
On duty Officers Kovacevic and Bisceglia responded and as they prepared to enter the building, they observed broken glass and a screen with apparent bullet holes on the ground. Once inside Officers Kovacevic and Bisceglia did an amazing job of securing the occupants of a second-floor apartment. The officers were able to overcome a significant language barrier and secure the apartment that was occupied by two adult males, one adult female and 1 ½ year old child.
As a result of the investigation conducted, we have no reason to believe that the shots were fired towards a person. This was an instance of severe recklessness that fortunately did not result in any injuries.
I would like to thank the Athol Police and Erving Police for sending officers to assist with the scene and the New Salem Police Department for responding to other unrelated calls to town that resulted in an arrest as well. I would like to send a special thank you to Detective Rivera of the East Hampton Police Department who responded and acted as a translator.
