GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Fourth of July events are popping up across Franklin County. The Franklin County Fairgrounds will be hosting an event on Friday, July 4th while the Greenfield Recreation Department’s event at Poet Seat Tower and Beacon Field will take place on Saturday, July 5th.

Recreation Department Celebrates Independence Day with Annual Fireworks Celebration
GREENFIELD – On Saturday, July 5, at Beacon Field, the Greenfield Recreation Department is hosting its annual Fireworks Celebration in recognition of Independence Day. The festivities begin at 5:00 p.m. and include various talented performers and skilled vendors. A rain date is currently scheduled for Sunday, July 6.
“Our Recreation Department always makes special occasions even more memorable,” said Mayor Virginia “Ginny” Desorgher. “We hope everyone can join us for this year’s Fireworks Celebration, and, if interested, consider donating to support our Recreation Department’s fireworks fund.”
“Fireworks are more than just a display—they’re a shared memory for families. Help us continue a cherished tradition. Your support ensures a spectacular fireworks display that brings our community together in celebration.” Said Christy Moore, Recreation Director. “Together, we can light up the night sky.”
Below is the full schedule of events for the Fireworks Celebration:
· 5:00 p.m. – Mixed music
· 6:00 p.m. – Well Suited
· 7:10 p.m. – Fortin Family Award
· 7:15 p.m. – Janet Ryan and Straight Up
· 8:30 p.m. – Greenfield Community Band
· 9:30 p.m. – National Anthem performance by Leila Bosman
· 9:35 p.m. – Fireworks
The Fireworks Celebration is made possible annually through fundraising by the Recreation Department and Recreation Commission. Community contributions are what make the firework festivities a reality, whether it is through participation in fundraising events, such as the Cornhole Tournament and indoor mini golf, or community donations.
