(Amherst, MA) – Two people have been killed in a head-on car accident in Amherst.
The Northwestern District Attorney’s office says the accident occurred at around 7:42 Tuesday night in the area of 916 West Street, andf involved a Datsun and a Honda Minivan. Two men, one in his 40s and the other in his 20s, both Amherst residents riding in the Datsun, were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the minivan was transported to the hospital with minor injuries and was cooperative with police.
An investigation indicated that the Datsun was traveling southbound when the vehicle crossed the double solid yellow line and crashed head-on into the minivan that was traveling in the northbound late. No charges or citations have been issued, and the accident remains under investigation.
