CHARLEMONT, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — UPDATE: One of the two people injured in a motorcycle accident on Route 2 in Charlemont over the weekend has died. According to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office, 72-year-old Sheila Rombeiro succumbed to her injuries suffered when she and her husband were riding a motorcycle and collided with an SUV Sunday evening.

Around 6:25 p.m. on Sunday police and two medical helicopters were called to the intersection of Route 2 and Avery Brook Road, and Route 2 was temporarily closed in both directions for the investigation.
