(Amherst, MA) The UMass Amherst Dining Services is launching a pilot program to test out new AI robots who will sort trash and recycling. The goal of the robotics company, rStream, is to make technology that would allow consumers to place all items in a single bin, leaving the sorting to the robots. In the pilot program, the AI robots will be tested on their ability to identify what is going into the waste.
