(Amherst, MA) Umass has announced the plan for the 2020-2021 school year amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Under this plan, students can choose to live at home or on campus, but most courses will be taught remotely. Only essential instruction will be offered face-to-face. Large-scale testing and isolation contact tracing is planed, and students will sign The Umass Agreement before the start of the year. The agreement will outline social distancing and public health related practices.

Umass has created a Public Health Promotion Center to serve the campus in coordinating COVID-19 mitigation. High volume areas will be equipped with plexiglass and other materials for protection against COVID-19. Cleaning and sanitation will be increased and masks will be required.
