(AMHERST)– A positive Covid-19 test forced the closure of  a café at the University of Massachusetts flagship campus over the weekend. An employee of the Blue Wall Café tested positive for the coronavirus and was last at the Blue Wall on Friday. The café was closed for 48 hours and reopened this morning.

UMass Dining planned to close the Roots Café, which was designated as a temporary back-up to Blue Wall.

The Blue Wall employee who tested positive was diagnosed as part of the UMass testing program, which mandates that staff and faculty who work on campus be tested weekly for the virus.
