(Amherst, MA) — UMass-Amherst is apparently seeing a sharp drop in the number of COVID cases. University officials say 40 new COVID cases were reported during the last week of September, which represents a 90 percent decline from the numbers reported just two weeks ago. The university says 24 of the 40 cases involved students on campus, but none required hospitalization.
