AMHERST, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — As a part of President Biden’s $160 million in grants through the Inflation Reduction Act, UMass Amherst has received nearly $6.4 million to reduce the steel industry’s carbon footprint.
Kara Peterman, associate professor of civil and environmental engineering at UMass will be working to create a free environmental product declaration, EDP, tool which describe the whole lifecycle of a product to help create an industry standard.
