AMHERST, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — UMass Amherst Is launching a pilot safety initiative with a Pedestrian Only Zone in a main area of campus. Not only will vehicles be restricted, but also bicycles, scooters, and skateboards will not be allowed. The Pedestrian Only Zone will be from North Pleasant Street to Hicks Way, the Haigis Mall to the south and Goessman Laboratory to the north.
