GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The Pioneer Valley Regional School District has been granted a temporary injunction against the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association.
PVRSD had made the request of the court after being subject to penalties from the MIAA due to scheduling errors on the part of several member schools. Those penalties had significantly lowered the ranking of Pioneer’s soccer teams in advance of the state tournament.
Thursday afternoon, in an emergency hearing in Franklin Superior Court, Judge James M. Manitsas issued the temporary restraining order/preliminary injunction. Pioneer’s soccer teams will now be seeded in the state tournament in accordance with their actual won/loss record.
