(Bernardston, MA) Bernardston will be utilizing their $74,000 award from the USDA Emergency Rural Health Care Grant and $61,000 in ARPA funds to purchase new repeaters that will enhance communication between first responders by boosting radio signal.

Currently, there are areas in town, such as inside the Bernardston Elementary School, where radio signal is weak and communication is limited, creating a public safety hazard. The addition of nine new repeaters, four for the fire department and five for the police department will arrive in approximately five months.
