(Massachusetts) Massachusetts vehicle inspections will be canceled again today due to a Malware incident. The Malware attack temporarily halted Massachusetts vehicle inspections by disrupting the Applus Technologies IT environment. This was a nationwide attack and restoration of the Applus Technologies system is not complete. Applus Technologies released a statement regarding the attack where they apologized for the delay but also said the repairs would take some time.

“The restoration involves resetting Applus Technologies’ IT environment and will take some time to fully restore the functionality of vehicle inspections,” said Applus Technologies in their official press release.

Applus Technologies United States CEO Darrin Greene issued an apology to small business owners who run vehicle inspections and customers trying to get their vehicles inspected for 2021.

“Unfortunately incidents like this are fairly common and no one is immune,” said Greene. “We apologize for any inconvenience this incident may cause. We know our customers and many vehicle owners rely on our technology and we are committed to restoring normal operations as soon as possible.”
