BERNARDSTON, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — A 43-year old Vermont woman was arrested in Bernardston Tuesday night after authorities found her to be under the influence of drugs while driving on Route 10.

According to Bernardston Police the woman exited Interstate 91 southbound heading onto Route 10 in Bernardston when she drove over a sign and then continued driving when Officer Zukowski attempted to stop her, until finally stopping near South Merrifield Road.

When approached by the officer, the woman allegedly exhibited manic behavior and was reaching around the vehicle. A medical evaluation concluded cleared her before her arrest and transport to the Franklin County House of Corrections.

She was charged with leaving the scene of property damage, Operating Under the Influence of drugs, negligent operation, and three counts of drug possession. Bail was set at $1,000.00
