(Shutesbury, MA)\ Shutesbury’s Special Town Meeting will be held on January 16th at 6 p.m. in the Shutesbury Elementary School. Residents will be voting on seven articles, one of which relates to the gasoline contamination and cleanup at the fire station. The contamination was first discovered fifteen years ago and a cleanup was undertaken in 2012, since then annual testing has occurred and this past June reportable levels of gasoline were discovered, however the licensed site professional responded saying there was no exposure to people. The town will be voting to use $9,000 for further mitigation and testing.
