WENDELL, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The town of Wendell will be holding a Special Election on Monday, August 4th from noon to 8 p.m. in order to vote on both Proposition 2 1/2 overrides and debt exclusions.
Proposition 2 1/2 overrides are a permanent real estate tax increase, impacting future levy assessments, while debt exclusions are temporary increases for one-time expenses.
The town will be voting on four articles, two override questions and two debt exclusions;
- assess an additional $133,999 in real estate and personal property taxes for the purpose of operating the Municipal Government and Public Schools for the fiscal year 2026 (override)
- assess an additional $40,250 in real estate and personal property taxes for the purpose of funding the General Stabilization Fund for the fiscal year 2026 (override)
