(Hadley, MA) — The West Nile Virus has been discovered in the town of Hadley. The town’s Board of Health confirms that recent state tests on mosquitoes trapped in Hadley confirmed presence of the virus, which officials say creates an “elevated risk” for contracting the disease. Residents are advised to avoid outdoor activity at dusk and dawn, wear insect repellent when outside, and to drain any standing water near their homes, which is where mosquitoes often congregate.
