(SUNDERLAND) –  Franklin County businesses continue to play the waiting game when it comes to federal stimulus dollars. First Franklin District State Rep. Natalie Blais (D-Sunderland) says the process for accessing those funds still remains a bit of as mystery.

“We’re still waiting on guidance from the federal government,” Blais said. “We were on a call this past week with Senators (Ed) Markey and (Elizabeth) Warren, and they are pushing the Trump Administration to get that out as quickly as possible so our small businesses can start to benefit from those funds flowing in.”

The federal government recently passed a $2 trillion COVID 19 relief package which is slated to include low or zero interest bridge loans for small businesses currently closed because of the pandemic. Blais says business owners who want more information are encouraged to contact members of the Western Mass. Beacon Hill or congressional delegation during regular business hours.
