SOUTH HADLEY, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — A Westfield man has pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to charges related to the overdose and death of a South Hadley woman.

42 year old Christopher Halla allegedly sold the woman the pills which she believed were oxycodone, but contained a synthetic opioid more potent than fentanyl, called metonitazene.

Halla has been charged with manslaughter and possession with intent to distribute a class A substance and bail was set at $100,000. His next court date is set for January 2025.
