Whately Accepting Proposals For Former Center School Property

(Whately, MA) The Town of Whately is accepting proposals for the long term lease and redevelopment of the former Whately Center School Property. The Center School Visioning Committee recommended a long term lease to a private entity after examining the town’s options of demolition, selling privately, or long term leasing back in 2020. The town, as the property owner, would be responsible for maintenance costs.

The property is approximately three-quarters of an acre and is located at 218 Chestnut Plain Road. The building is listed on the State Register of Historic Places and is zoned as Agricultural/Residential. Sealed proposals will be accepted until January 30th, 2023.
