GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The White Bridge, on Turners Falls Road over the Connecticut River, in Turners Falls will be closed today and tomorrow, April 8th and 9th, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for inspections by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation. A detour will be in place taking traffic along Route 2A and Avenue A. Drivers can expect delays and reduced speed. All work is weather dependent and may change without notice.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) will be performing a bridge inspection on the White Bridge (Turners Falls Road over the Connecticut River) on April 8 & 9, 2026. The bridge will be closed from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. both days. A detour will be place utilizing Route 2A and Avenue A.
Appropriate signage and messaging will be in place to guide drivers through the work area.
Drivers traveling through the affected area should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution. All scheduled work is weather dependent and subject to change without notice.
