ATHOL, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — A brief power outage swept through Athol and surrounding towns Tuesday evening affecting thousands , according to resident reports from Westminster to Orange.
Athol Police reported the outage also impacting some traffic lights in town, urging residents to use caution on the roadways.
The cause of the outage is unknown at this time, however all Athol residents have regained power.
66% of Royalston residents are now without power as of 4:46 a.m. according to the MEMA outage map. The Royalston Community School has canceled school for Wednesday, April 30th as the building is without electricity and water, which may not be restored until later this afternoon.
