WINCHESTER, NH (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Residents of Winchester, New Hampshire are being told to not drink the tap water after an odor investigation at 74 Gomako Drive uncovered an unknown contaminant in the water.
The source of the contaminant and its identity are not yet known, so while the water is safe for laundry and bathing, it is not safe to drink or cook with, even if boiled first. The Department of Environmental Services is testing the water and results are expected imminently.
Free water is available at the Fire Department at 6 Parker Street and for those who cannot make it to the department, call 603-239-6691 for a delivery.
