(Greenfield, MA) – A long-awaited reconstruction of Greenfield’s Wisdom Way will happen three years earlier than expected. The state has announced that the project has moved up from an expected fiscal 2024 start date to the fiscal year beginning July 1. The project will address erosion problems on the section of road between River Street and the main entrance to the Franklin County Fair grounds. The project will cost $3.3 million and will be funded primarily by federal grants, with the city contributing $285,000 for engineering and design costs. Construction is set to begin next summer.
