(Deerfield, MA) — Deerfield officials are warning residents to beware of high water levels on the Deerfield River. This after Deerfield Fire District officials were forced to use boats to rescue two young people who had become stranded on the high ledges in a remote section of the river. One of the youths apparently became tired while swimming across the river and could not make it back. The Deerfield department and the Northfield Dive team both sent boats out and made the rescue. No injuries were reported.
