Zachary Laviolette of Easthampton has pled guilty to charges of motor vehicle homicide while operating under the influence of alcohol. The 27 year old received three years probation with fifteen year loss of his driver’s license. Laviolette was arrested and charged after an incident in Northampton that killed 24 year old Matthew Kolb. Kolb reportedly fell off the trunk of Laviolette’s moving vehicle. Kolb suffered series injuries and died at the hospital on May 1, 2020. Laviolette will have to complete 100 hours of community service, complete a driver’s education program, submit to random drug and alcohol testing, and use a SCRAM or Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitoring Device which will test him for alcohol multiple times a day.
