BARRE, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The Greenfield Historical Commission voted to rescind their demolition delay of the Zion Korean church at 463 Main Street by the new owners at the Franklin County YMCA. The YMCA found a new home for the historical church building with Phil Stevens of Carter and Stevens Farm in Barre, Mass.
According to the Commission, the church was originally located in Barre and will be returning to the same town to be preserved and enjoyed by the public.Â
Carter and Stevens Farm is 1,000 acre a multi-generational farm and Phill Stevens also serves on the Board of Directors for the Mount Grace Land Trust.
The church property also contains a carriage house that has been deemed unsalvageable and a cupola that will be moved to Barre with the church building.
