(Greenfield, MA) GCET’s General Manager John Lunt gave a presentation on the status of GCET’s expansion plans at Wednesday’s Greenfield City Council meeting. Lunt explained that the process to expand is lengthy and requires licenses for each utility pole they will use, and then the contracts with joint pole owners Verizon and Eversource who must complete their own work on the poles in order to make space for GCET. Currently, work is ready to begin in the northern sections of town who will soon be able to access GCET, although an exact timeline is unclear.
