GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Greenfield Department of Public Works crews are working on repairs to a collapsed sewer main on Wells Street. DPW Director Marlo Warner said his department discovered a sink hole in the area of 54 Wells Street on Monday, and upon further investigation, discovered the collapsed sewer main.
As repair work continues, Wells Street in that area remains closed. Warner said it is difficult to know exactly when the repairs will be wrapped up. Warner noted that this occurred in a sewer main, not a water main, and that the water supply for homes and businesses in the area is not impacted in any way.
Franklin County Now will provide updates as more details are released by the City of Greenfield.
