GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a magnitude 4.8 earthquake hit the northeastern United States today. The quake hit at 10:23 a.m. and was centered near Lebanon, New Jersey, in the northern part of the Garden State.

The quake was felt here in western Massachusetts, with most reports indicating mild but noticeable tremors.
