SHELBURNE, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — A woman was struck and killed by a train Monday morning in Shelburne.
The fatality occurred at around 5:00 Monday morning near the Bardwell’s Ferry Bridge. The unidentified woman was pronounced dead at about 5:30 a.m. The woman was hit by a Berkshire & Eastern Railroad freight train, according to Northwest District Attorney office spokesperson Laurie Loisel. Loisel stated that foul play did not appear to be involved. The DA’s office is heading up the investigation.
