GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Due to the threat of inclement weather Saturday night, the annual Greenfield Fireworks Celebration will now take place on Sunday instead.

Festivities will get underway at 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Beacon Field, with live musical performances and several food vendors. The fireworks display will begin at 9:35 p.m.

GREENFIELDOn Sunday, July 7, at Beacon Field, the Greenfield Recreation Department is hosting its annual Fireworks Celebration in recognition of Independence Day. The festivities begin at 4:00 p.m. and include various talented performers and skilled vendors.

“Our Recreation Department always makes special occasions even more memorable,” said Mayor Virginia “Ginny” Desorgher. “We hope everyone can join us for this year’s Fireworks Celebration, and, if interested, consider donating to support our Recreation Department.”

“We look forward to the fireworks lighting up the sky as we celebrate our nation’s freedom with our community!” Said Christy Moore, Recreation Director. “The dazzling array of shells will be a true pyrotechnic salute to America.”

Below is the full schedule of events for the Fireworks Celebration:

  • 4:00 p.m. – Mixed music
  • 5:15 p.m. – Steve Ellis of AfterGlo
  • 6:00 p.m. – Dead Collective
  • 7:10 p.m. – Fortin Family Award
  • 7:15 p.m. – Wildcat O’Halloran Band
  • 8:30 p.m. – Greenfield Military Band
  • 9:30 p.m. – National Anthem performance by Adelaide Ehle
  • 9:35 p.m. – Fireworks

The Fireworks Celebration is made possible annually through fundraising by the Recreation Department and Recreation Commission. Community contributions are what make the firework festivities a reality, whether it is through participation in fundraising events, such as the Cornhole Tournament and indoor mini golf, or community donations.
