SHELBURNE FALLS, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — A Shelburne Falls veteran has pleaded guilty to submitting a false application to the Marine Corps to receive a Purple Heart and accepting unwarranted benefit payments. Paul John Herbet will have his sentencing in June and it is anticipated that Herbert will have to make restitution payments and a fine in addition to other conditions.
