NORTHFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The Northfield EMS will no longer be moving into the Valley Concrete and Construction facility in Bernardston.
The owner of Valley Concrete and Construction has informed the Selectboard that they will be withdrawing from the Purchase and Sale Agreement negotiations.
In November of 2024, Northfield residents approved the purchase of the Valley Concrete and Construction facility in a Special Town Meeting vote. The facility would have adequately housed all three ambulances and have room left over for the Highway Department vehicles.
The Selectboard expressed disappointment in the loss of a solution for the EMS team and stated they will continue to explore facility solutions.
