LEVERETT, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The Leverett Elementary School budget has been released with a requested amount of $2.4 million for FY26.

This is approximately $111,000 or 4.96% more than the current year’s budget.

The largest budget increases comes from the testing and assessment materials line item, for the introduction of STAR assessments. STAR assessments are computer-based literacy and math standardized tests created by Renaissance Learning, Inc for K-12 education.

The Special Education transportation and tuition lines also rose dramatically with transportati0on increasing 41% and the introduction of the tuition line budgeted for $55,000.
