SHELBURNE FALLS, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — 54 year-old Marine veteran Paul Herbert of Shelburne Falls has been sentenced to one year home confinement and another year of supervision after Herbert pleaded guilty to filing a fraudulent Purple Heart application and disability application.
Herbert was found to have been overpaid $344,000 by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs between 2010 and 2023.
