LEYDEN, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Leyden residents will be voting on several zoning bylaw changes at Wednesday’s Special Town Meeting.
On the warrant are articles to vote on Accessory Dwelling Unit, ADU, changes related to definitions and regulations, including policies on short term rentals. These changes bring the town in alignment with changes that have occurred at the state level in regards to ADUs.
Additionally, the town is seeking a change to the Town Moderator’s authority when it comes to votes that require a two-thirds majority. If passed, the moderator will be able to call a vote without a count and have the call recorded by the clerk, unless seven or more town meeting members call for a count.
The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. on July 16th in the Town Hall.
