Voters dealing with rain as they cast ballots in primary election

GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) –It is Primary Election Day here in Massachusetts. There are several contested races today.

Locally, the most closely-watched race is for the First Franklin District Representative seat. Democrat Natalie Blais resigned that seat earlier this year. Her Legislative Aide, Corinne Coryat, is being opposed by Greenfield City Council President Lora Wondolowski.

Another race that has garnered a lot of attention is for U.S. Senate. Longtime Democratic Senator Edward Markey is being challenged by Congressman Seth Moulton.

For U.S. Congress in the First District, which includes Charlemont, Hawley, Monroe, and Rowe, Democratic incumbent Richard Neal faces Jeromie Whalen.

In the Republican primary for Governor, Michael Minogue is facing Brian Shortsleeve.

Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
