Too close to call: Wondolowski leads Coryat by 113 votes in 1st Franklin primary

With approximately 85-percent of all Primary Election ballots counted, the race for the Democratic nomination for the First Franklin District State Representative seat is still too close to call.

Greenfield City Council President Lora Wondolowski holds a 113 vote lead over Corinne Coryat, the former aide to Natalie Blais. Blais had resigned from that seat back in January. Results from three towns are still pending. The winner will oppose Independent candidate Amy Lavallee in the November General Election.

Franklin County Now will provide updates once final results have been released.

In the race for US Senate, longtime Senator Ed Markey easily fended off the challenge of Congressman Seth Moulton, garnering 65-percent of the vote to Moulton’s 35-percent. Markey will now face Republican John Deaton in November.

In the race for Governor, Mike Minogue romped to victory, claiming the Republican nomination over Brian Shortsleeve. Minogue will go up against Governor Maura Healey, who is seeking a second term.

Congressman Richard Neal won the Democratic primary over Jermomie Whalen, and Incumbent Tara Jacobs won the Democratic nomination for Governor’s Council decisively over Michael Fenton.
