(Greenfield, MA) The Discovery School at Four Corners has come up with a unique fund raising idea for the new playground project. Modeled after Flocking Flamingos, the Bees that Swarm are placed on a lawn late at night with instructions on how to remove the bees. A $10 donation will get a trained bee keeper to remove the bees. A $20 donation will get a Bee Keeper to remove the bees and the swarm will be relocated to a friend or family member. $30 will get the bees removed, placed in the lawn of a friend or family member, and will also get insurance against being swarmed another time.
“This fundraiser is to help with the Playground Project to help replace the oldest playground equipment in the town and also buy much needed playground items such as balls, jump ropes, outside classroom supplies, and more for the students to use outside,” said Parent Teacher Organization Vice President Cynthia Pease.
A final amount has not been calculated due to the expense of the equipment needed. Pease said so far the fundraiser has been well received, but she understands that some people might not be able to donate. In that case, bee keepers will collect the bees and move them along after a day or two.
