(UNDATED) – Crisp, cool and clear days like today here in Western Mass. should produce a deep blue sky with that sunshine. But not today.  even though it’s not hot and it’s not humid. So why the haze? The National Weather Service in Boston says smoke from the Western U.S. wildfires has reached the Northeast. They say the smoke is too far aloft to affect air quality here on the ground. Forecasters expect the bands of hazy smoke to eventually pull away from the area by week’s end.
