(Franklin County, MA) On Thursday, the FBI released a photo of a man they believe is responsible for numerous attempted bank robberies along the I-91 corridor, including two in Franklin County and one in Athol. He is described as a white male, between 5’6” and 5’8” tall and usually wears a hood or hat and white sneakers. Investigators believe the suspect may be driving a new model Nissan sedan. People should consider this man armed and dangerous as he has threatened to use a gun in at least six robberies.
The unknown man is the main suspect responsible for the January 27th robbery of Franklin First Credit Union in Greenfield, the November 20, 2021, robbery of the Greenfield Cooperative Bank in Turners Falls and the robbery at the Workers Credit Union on Tower Road in Athol on November 5, 2021. There is a $10,000 reward for information leading to his identification, arrest and conviction.
