NEW SALEM, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — At approximately 7:40 p.m. Friday evening, a single-engine Cessna aircraft crashed into the Quabbin Reservoir Sediment Pond in New Salem. The sole occupant of the aircraft was rescued safely, then LifeFlighted to UMass Memorial Medical Center for evaluation. The incident remains under investigation.
