WENDELL, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — While Wendell residents voted to adopt a new bylaw for battery energy storage systems that would require projects over 1 megawatt to gain the approval of the Wendell Licensing Board, the Attorney General’s Office denied the bylaw.
According to the AGO, the bylaw would have to be a zoning bylaw rather than a general bylaw.
The No Assault & Batteries resident group that brought forward the bylaw in their opposition to a proposed New Leaf battery storage project that has since been withdrawn, will be having a meeting to discuss next steps on December 10th at 6 p.m. via Zoom.
