GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Last night the Greenfield City Council voted to adopt the resolution declaring Greenfield a safe city for transgender and gender diverse persons.

Before voting, the Council heard from approximately two dozen community members who came to speak during public comment in favor of the resolution, including the chair of the Public Safety Commission, David Moscaritolo, who, like others, said hate has no place in Greenfield.

Many community members also expressed the desire to see more come forward beyond the resolution, specifically an ordinance that will have stronger protections.
