ORANGE, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Orange firefighters were able to contain a fire along the ridge line of Route 2 near exit 70 Sunday morning. Reports came in of a brush fire around 10:47 a.m. and quick action saved the fire from spreading in a poorly accessible area.
Officials from the Orange Fire Department believe the fire was likely not an accidental spark from passing cars, due to cut branches and remnants of a fire site found at the scene. A fire pit was also recovered in the area, and is held at the Fire Station for pick up by the owner.
