GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Greenfield Middle School has been named the Western Massachusetts winner as an exemplary program in the Massachusetts Safe Routes to School project, which has been running for 20 years.

Greenfield Middle School is one of four exemplary programs recognized this year and for the fifth year crossing guards are being recognized across the state for the essential work they do.

Safe Routes to School provides trainings to schools on bike and pedestrian safety and hosts annual events like the Walk, Bike, & Roll to School Day held annually in May.
