GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — At Wednesday night’s Greenfield City Council meeting, the controversial future of the parking lot at 53 Hope Street was voted on.

Many neighbors of the property came to speak during public comment to ongoing share parking issues they’ve experienced and the concern of adding more housing while removing a parking lot.

In response, city officials shared they will incorporate more structure in terms of parking planning into their Request for Proposals, as the Council also voted to allow the city to sell the property.

Additionally, officials will be looking into the existing parking issues and work to address the citizens’ concerns.
